At it's heart in the beautiful setting College Green, stands the Norman Cathedral with its magnificent fan-vaulted cloisters and great east window.  A walk down narrow cobbled streets and past ancient buildings leads into the main pedestrianised shopping area.  From there it is just a short stroll to the dramatic waterfront of the Victorian Docks with it's impressive converted warehouses.  You will be greeted by a colourful tableau of life on the water and all kinds of vessels, from narrow boats to sea going ships.  There are also pleasure boats to take you on a journey through the past when Gloucester was a thriving commercial port.
